About Casi

I’m Casi (pronounced Casey), the graphic designer behind Casi Long Design.  I specialize in clean, efficient, and authentic branding and website design.

In other words, I love white space and minimalistic design.

I’m a lover of Jesus, travelling and Washington Nationals baseball.

I’m a (recovering) perfectionist, who gets excited about organizing, learning and checking off to-do-list items.

I’ve been married for almost 6 years to the coolest guy around, who’s also an entrepreneur, so we work side-by-side every day.

We live in the heart of Washington DC and serve regularly at our church.

How would you describe your brand in 3 words?

Clean, efficient, authentic.

What is your favourite social media platform and why?

Instagram! It’s the platform I prefer for personal use, so I love to use it for business too. I love that it’s easy to scroll through if you’re bored, but you can also use it to learn from others through their comments, videos, etc.

And I really love the stories! I was so hesitant when they first released because I’m not a snap chat user, but now they’re probably my favourite feature on Instagram.

I like to post more behind-the-scenes stuff on my stories, but I’m much more particular about the photos I post on my profile page.

I want my profile to be visually appealing and on-brand, but stories are a great place to not have to worry about what it looks like.

What is your top tip for someone starting out today on your favourite platform?

Invest in learning all about the platform. Take a course, research online, study your analytics, etc.

Figure out the ins and outs of that platform and learn how to use it correctly.

I’d say most important is to be consistent with your posting!

Even if you can only think up content to post 2-3x per week, start there and just consistently post 2-3x per week.

Ok, but the other thing I feel like I learned the hard way, is that your posts are not for YOU.

They’re for your audience! If it’s not adding value or joy to their lives then they won’t be interested. Think about what THEY want when you curate posts—not what you think is fun.

I know, that was more than one tip. 🙂

How would your best friend describe you in 2 words?

Honest and dependable.

What book do you recommend the most to others and why?

The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman. It changed the way I view the people I’m in a relationship with, my husband in particular. When you can understand what makes others tick, you’re able to love and serve them better. The book was honestly life -changing for me in my early twenties.

What are you planning to do more of this year?

Hand lettering! I have always loved to doodle and draw words/phrases, but until recently I didn’t realize I’m actually decent at it. I plan to start selling a few products and sharing more lettering with my followers.

On social media, I plan to show my face a lot more, primarily using videos on Insta stories and through my Instagram posts.

I also have plans to run a couple Facebook Ad campaigns, featuring some new launches I have coming up, as well as try advertising on Instagram (for the first time).

What are your top 3 favourite tv shows?

Friends and Gilmore Girls. That’s it. With those two, why would you need a third?
